What began as a small spark slowly grew into something real. Here’s the story behind it

Meet the Founder

I’m Lucy, the founder and designer behind Luno. This brand has quietly been in the making since 2020, when I began building a collection of patterns simply because I loved creating them. Outside of design, my background is in Biomedical Sciences. A completely different world, but one that shaped a lot of who I am today!

Luno is the result of years of experimenting, refining, and bringing together ideas that finally felt ready to share. Every pattern is created by me, with the hope that it becomes something you’ll love to carry every day.

In summary, I started Luno because I wanted phone cases that were:

✔ cute without being childish

✔ protective without being chunky

✔ affordable without looking “cheap”

The process behind the Designs

All Luno designs begin as simple sketches; quick shapes, loose ideas, and repeating forms that come together on paper before they ever make it to a screen. From there, I bring everything into my iPad, where each pattern is redrawn, refined, and polished using a range of digital tools and illustration software.

My inspiration comes from the beauty of abstract minimalism; patterns that feel intentional, calming, and quietly expressive. Every design is shaped with that balance in mind.
